"Yakudoshi" is the age of calamity.
It is believed that some bad things happened to those who are in this age groups.
The ages of calamity differ according to gender as follows.
Unfortunately as both my husband and I are in unlucky year,
we went to Matsuo-dera Temple to have our bad luck and evil exorcised.
Matsuo-dera Temple is known as the oldest temple to exorcise evil spirit.
It was built by Imperial Prince Toneri, Emperor Tenmu's son, in 718 in order to exorcise evil spirit age of 42 and pray for the successful completion
on Nishonshoki (Chronicles of Japan).
There is Matsuo Shrine behind the temple.
We climbed up to the top of the small hill.
Guji (priest of Shrine) said that this hill is a sacred place and
a very famous power spot.
We prayed for our good health, peaceful life and the success of our business.
